How to Elasticate a Pole

This week I how you how to elasticate a pole, the easy way. I am setting up this pole with elastic rated at size 14-16 which is 1.85mm in diameter.

This is designed to catch carp in snag free waters. In the event that I had more snags close at hand, I would have set up with the stronger 16-18 size elastic which is 2.1mm in diameter.

For smaller fish the pole would be elasticated with anything from a number 6 elastic to the size 14-16 mentioned above.

Poles are always elasticated with the size of elastic which enables you to control the size of fish you are targetting. For example a size 6 elastic might be used for roach and bream.
