How to Install Inside Mount Wood/Faux Wood Blinds

Most people think installing their own blinds is hard. Following the simple, step-by-step instructions in this video makes hanging your custom wood/faux wood blinds easy to do yourself! Just screw the brackets in, slide the headrail into place, close the hinges on the brackets, attach the wand and valance and you’re done!

Here’s how you do it:

1. Mark where you want to place your brackets. For this install, we’re going to be hanging the blinds inside the window frame, so the brackets will be attached to the sides of the frame at the top of the window. Check that the top of the window frame is level and place the brackets in the corners as close to the outer edges of the window frame as possible. Use a pencil or marker to mark the place where each screw will go.

2. Predrill the holes using the 5/64” drill bit and screw the brackets into place.

3. Slide the headrail into the brackets and close the hinged front pieces.

4. Attach the wand by pushing the hook sleeve up – that’s the little plastic piece on the tilt mechanism. Then hook the wand onto the exposed loop and slide the hook sleeve over the connection so that the wand can’t slip off.

5. Attach the magnetic valance by positioning the valance where you want it over the headrail and letting the magnets do their job. Just make sure that you don’t attach the valance too low or it could interfere with using the wand.

6.Congratulations! You just installed your own blinds! Wasn’t that easy?
