Louis Jordan's 1947 all-black movie musical; the singer and his band goes out West to a dude ranch - "When he's not singin', he's shootin'. When he's not shootin', he's lovin'!". Songs include Jack You Dead, Caledonia, I Got a New 10 Gallon Hat, Don't Burn the Candle at Both Ends, Chicky Moe, Boogie in the Barnyard, You're Much Too Fat, That's That, Turkey in the Straw, Roamin' Blues, Early in the Morning, Look Out Sister, and Let the Good Times Roll (instrumental). Louis Jordan was the best selling black musician of the 1940s and pre-figured rock and roll.
