New Years in Times Square

Eric and I were in New York City over New Years 2009. We decided not to wait out right under the ball, although we had the opportunity as late as around 5pm that night as we walked by. The temperature was bitterly cold, so we decided to see how far we could get in the crowd going out a few minutes before the ball drop. We ended up only a few blocks away and could see the ball drop in the reflection of the buildings. We were back in the hotel room within 30 minutes.
