Rhythm Section Techniques with Helen Sung and Jerome Jennings
Jazz St. Louis welcomes Helen Sung and Jerome Jennings for an amazing conversation on rhythm section playing. Join them as they share their thoughts on the role of the rhythm section, talk about some of the great rhythm sections of all time, and discuss some of the experiences that shaped them into the great musicians they are. None of the recordings they listen to are included in this video for copyright reasons but are linked in a Spotify playlist below so that you may listen along with Helen and Jerome. This session was originally recorded as part of Jazz St. Louis' virtual residency series and was held in partnership with our friends at Jazz at Lincoln Center (http://jazz.org).
