In a sharp political attack, National Conference leaders Ifra Jan and Shreya Handoo accused the BJP of manufacturing a Jammu vs Kashmir divide to fuel its politics.
The remarks came amid the ongoing controversy surrounding MBBS admissions at the Mata Vaishno Devi Medical College.

Ifra Jan said the BJP has “nothing to offer except divisive narratives,” adding that the MBBS admission row clearly exposes the party’s “polarisation tactics.”

Shreya Handoo, addressing the SMVIME issue, questioned the BJP’s religious angle in admissions.
She said:
“If admissions are to be based on religion, then the institute must return the government grant and repay the cost of the allotted land as well.”

NC leaders maintained that education cannot be communalised, urging the administration to follow transparent and merit-based policies.
