Make-a-Wish Grants Cancer Survivor Jaime Gamez Wish to Become a Diesel Technician at UTI

Universal Technical Institute (UTI) recently teamed up with industry and employer partners Daimler Trucks North America, Freightliner Trucks, Sunstate Equipment Rental, Premier Truck Group, Snap-on Tools, TechForce Foundation and the Make-A-Wish Foundation to grant cancer survivor Jaime Gamez with a full-ride scholarship to UTI’s Diesel and Freightliner Finish First programs.

Jaime, who has been passionate about big engines since he was young, could have chosen anything for his wish—but he chose to train to become a diesel technician at UTI. According to him, he wanted to choose something that would last a lifetime and set him up for an exciting future doing what he loves.

We are incredibly honored that Jaime chose UTI and are excited to make his wish come true. We look forward to supporting him in his journey at UTI Avondale in Arizona!
