Flying the world's first certified ELECTRIC PLANE - This is the Pipistrel Velis Electro

Pipistrel managed to receive EASA-Certification for their Velis Electro. The all electrically powered aircraft is the first of its kind to be certified and can now be used for flight training and other commercial operation.
Electric planes have the potential to revolutionize general aviation for various reasons: It can raise the public acceptance for general aviation (especially here in Europe) because of the significantly lower noise emissions and will one day make flying a lot cheaper compared to normal combustion engines. The Velis turned out to perform very well and might be the perfect trainer aircraft for daily flight school operations...
