Light, Medium, and Dark Roast Using the Fresh Roast SR540 Home Coffee Roaster

In this video I demonstrate a light roast, a medium roast, and a dark roast using the Fresh Roast SR540 home coffee roaster. This video probably has too many things going on at once, it’s kind of a three-ring circus around the 5- to 6-minute mark. However, I hope you find some of the information useful.

The settings used are adapted from the Sweet Maria’s Fresh Roast SR540 Tips Sheet:
https://www.sweetmarias.com/media/sebwite/productdownloads//f/r/freshroast_sr540_tip_sheet.pdf

Here are the beans used in this video:

Light – Ethiopia Guji Shakiso Sewana Site (Sweet Maria’s). Tasting notes from supplier: strong jasmine florals, black tea notes, citrus hints, mouth cleansing acidity, mango tea, passionfruit.

Medium – Nicaragua La Escondida Laurina (Bodhi Leaf), Jinotega region, Anaerobic Natural, 975-1230 meters; tasting notes from supplier: dried fruit, floral, maple syrup, roasted almonds.

Dark – Sumatra Wet Process Atu Lintang (Sweet Maria’s). Tasting notes from supplier: complex aroma and flavor, toffee-sweet middle notes. They don’t really recommend a dark roast for this bean but it delivers typical “dark roasted Sumatra” if taken into second crack.
