Saqr Port - Pushing The Limits (Documentary)

In 2014, RAK Ports embarked upon the planning for a project which would see Saqr Port, the Middle East’s largest bulk-handling port, construct two new berths capable of handling the world’s largest bulk cargo vessels.

The project would take until 2019 to fully complete, and involved designing and building one of the world’s tallest, deepest quay walls, in an exposed location with no protection from the open sea.

The many challenges involved in the project meant pushing the limits of design engineering in this field of maritime expertise, beyond anything that had been attempted before.
