In a rare and historic wildlife movement, a tiger has reportedly traveled nearly 1500 kilometers through forests to reach Similipal National Park.

According to forest officials, an adult male tiger from another state was first captured on AI camera traps in Similipal during August–September last year. Even now, the tiger continues to roam freely inside the forest.

This extraordinary journey is being seen as a strong indicator of safe wildlife corridors and a healthy ecosystem. Experts say such long-distance movement of a tiger is extremely rare and highlights the importance of forest connectivity and conservation efforts.

The presence of this tiger reinforces the ecological strength of Similipal and showcases successful wildlife protection measures in Odisha.
