👩🍳HOMEMADE CREAM BUNS
For the buns:
• All-purpose flour – 2 cups (250g)
• Warm milk – ¾ cup (180 ml)
• Sugar – 2 tbsp
• Active dry yeast – 1½ tsp
• Salt – ½ tsp
• Butter (softened) – 2 tbsp
For the cream filling:
• unsalted butter – 1 cup (240 ml)
• condensed milk- 4-5 tbsp ( according to your taste preference)
If not condensed milk you can use sugar and adjust with little milk.
🍞 Instructions
1. Prepare the dough
• In a bowl, mix warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until frothy.
• Add flour, salt and prepared yeast mixture .
• Knead for 10–12 minutes until smooth and soft. (Use a stand mixer if available.)
• Cover and let it rise in a warm place for 1–1.5 hours or until doubled.
2. Shape and bake
• Punch the dough down, divide into 8 equal portions.
• Shape into smooth balls and place on a lined baking tray with slight gaps.
• Cover and let them proof again for 30–40 minutes.
• heat oil and put the buns one at a time in low to medium heat or the bun will burn from outside and will be undercooked from inside.
• Once the bun turns medium brown take it out and let it cool
3. Prepare the cream
• in a bowl add unsalted butter with condensed milk and beat it until butter becomes light and airy with takes around 4-5mins
4. Assemble
• Once buns are completely cool, slice them horizontally.
• Pipe or spoon butter cream generously inside.
