A Swiss nicole freres of geneva cylinder music box with eight airs made around 1860.
This well restored Swiss rosewood veneered music box plays one of eight tunes by means of a pinned cylinder on a steel comb. Both the mechanism as the comb are signed Nicole Freres. Nicole Freres is regarded by many as the top of the music box manufacturers of the 19th century. The serial number 33277 indicates a date of origin between 1855 and 1860.
