Assassin's Creed III - Perfect Stealth - Fort Washington

Assassin's Creed III (PC) - Fort Washington

**IMPORTANT** I've been having an issue with this game where it would crash immediately upon completing any of the pre-rendered cinematics. This impeded my progress, especially at the endgame. Ubisoft's official support was unable to tell me the source of the problem, but I was finally able to find out what it was: it turns out that deleting, moving or renaming the video files "ubi_logo" and "warning_disclaimer" in the game's installation causes this. Those files are the intro videos, which are ordinarily unskippable, which was why I deleted them in the first place. Replacing them, or files with their names, solves this problem. When playing this game, MAKE SURE "ubi_logo.bik" and "warning_disclaimer.bik" are in their places when other pre-rendered cinematics play. At any other time, removing them is fine. Just don't ask me why the intro videos and the others are related. Here's where I found the solution, many thanks to the original poster: http://forums.ubi.com/showthread.php/738510-Ending-crahes-with-AC3SP-exe-has-stopped-working?p=8799753

There are two versions of this fort takeover included in this video: one during the day and one at night. At first I thought doing it stealthily was only possible at night, but after succeeding I wasn't satisfied, so I decided to attempt a daytime run as well.

In any case, this was a difficult challenge. The presence of civilians inside the fort made things unpredictable; in their panic they'd sometimes shove guards while running after the powder reserve explosion. In addition, there are Patriots hanging around the main entrance at all times who will inevitably start a conflict with the guards there at some point after the restricted area is entered. In the night run only two Patriots are present, and I take them down before starting the run proper to make sure they don't mix things up (the guards at the entrance that could be distracted or killed by the Patriots are relevant when I take to the rooftops to kill the Captain in the night run; in the day run I don't have to do this so I don't bother with the Patriots at all).

Once again I have to be an active pacifist in this run, moving a couple of gunpowder barrels out of the explosion radius so a trio of guards and a civilian or two don't get blown up.

The most problematic element of this run is the fact that the flagpole is directly in a guard's line of sight at all times. I couldn't get him to move away to inspect the Captain when he's poisoned like I wanted to, and the explosion was too far away to lure him so I was forced to distract him directly by whistling. If anyone can get that guard to leave his post on his own, or somehow interact with the flagpole without him seeing without tool use, I'd love to see it!

Only two more to go!
