Buddy (Bret) Hart vs Ludger Proulx (May 1984)

No, your eyes are not deceived. Here is a rare bout of Bret Hart's when he worked for Maple Leaf Wrestling in Ontario from the end of 1983 through June 1984. Because Barry Horowitz was working under the name Brett Hart for Maple Leaf (as well as for Jim Crockett Promotions in the Carolinas & Virginia), the real Bret Hart was rechristened Heartthrob Buddy Hart. Hart feuded with a familiar foe from his Stampede years, Leo Burke, for the North American Heavyweight Championship, in Ontario. This Maple Leaf TV bout sees Hart battle Montreal undercard staple Ludger Proulx. This match was taped in at the Brantford Civic Centre in Brantford, Ontario (Thanks to Kevin Nagle for ID'ing the venue!), on April 30, 1984, and most likely aired on MLW TV sometime in May 1984.
