Sights of bodies in Israel's Be'eri 'unbelievable' says ZAKA responder

Israeli Zaka rescue service retrieved over a hundred bodies from the small Israeli community of Be'eri near the border with the Gaza Strip on Monday (October 9), the southern commander of the service told Reuters on Tuesday (October 10).

Be'eri, a kibbutz, or collective farm, is among the worst-hit of the 14 Israeli border communities overrun by Hamas terrorists on Saturday (October 7).

Yossi Landau, Commander of Zaka South told Reuters that more than 100 bodies were found in Be'eri. That amounted to some 10 percent of its population.

An Israeli military spokesperson said troops responding to Saturday's mass-infiltration killed between 70 and 100 gunmen in or around Be'eri.

Video sent by a Zaka spokesperson shows its men in flak jackets and helmets, many of them religious Jews, pausing to say the "Kaddish" mourners' prayer over plastic-wrapped corpses before carrying them away for burial.
