1400 COVID Patients at one hospital, 300 on Ventilator, 600 on Oxygen. India's Giant COVID Crisis

Barkha Dutt reports from outside the Covid Civil Hospital in Gujarat's Surat. There is a rush of ambulances with patients being brought in the hospital one after the other. The waiting duration is so long that the tests are conducted on the patients inside the ambulances itself. Mojo Story talked to two doctors; Dr Ashwin, Dr Parul and Dr Chaudhary, who have been running this Covid facility Centre. The doctors told us that ambulances have been converted into OPDs and testing centres due to the surge in the number of Covid patients. One of the doctors told us that more than 1400 Covid patients are being treated at the centre out of which more than 300 patients are on ventilators and more than 600 are on high level of oxygen. CMO said that the facility is currently not facing oxygen shortage and that the staff of the Hospital is working in double shifts to manage the covid crisis.
