BBC News: Government is tinkering around edges of the building safety scandal (09/02/25)

In addition to a lack of consultation with the Grenfell community about their decision to demolish the tower, the government is also making little progress with their programme to remediate thousands of other unsafe buildings across the country.

End Our Cladding Scandal tells the BBC's Tom Symonds, “We are really disappointed by what we’ve seen of Labour so far, after all the support in opposition, the number of times they pointed out the previous government's approach had failed. All they are doing is... tinkering around the edges. There are too many barriers to remediation, too many people ruled out of help. It's just not going to work right now. They need to do a whole lot more."

The building safety scandal now spans a generation - with no end in sight for most people who are still living with the consequences.
