1920s Clara Bow Inspired Makeover

A couple weeks ago I did this 1920’s Clara Bow inspired makeover on my friend Britt. The hair and makeup was based off a look Miss Bow sported in the movie “Rough House Rosie”. I kept the eye-makeup a bit lighter than Clara usually wore on screen, in part because Britt had to go out for dinner with her husband right after filming this and she didn’t want to look overly made up. Since on-screen makeup tends to be quite heavy in person, I instead opted for a 1920's look meant for "real life" instead of makeup meant for filming. Her super short hair was fighting my attempts at styling a bit, but overall I was quite pleased with how everything turned out.

PS: If anyone likes the headscarf I used, there should be a couple going into my Etsy shop sometime later this month.

For hygienic purposes, I just used a mascara and lipstick out of Britt’s makeup bag, so I’m not really sure what either product was. Any black mascara and bright red lipstick should work for this look though.
