Chopping hay for senior horses without teeth!

We chopped 1,200 pounds of alfalfa today into 4 cabinets - we soak each meal with water for Vega (41 with no teeth) and Joe (28 with few teeth). This is how we keep elderly horses alive & thriving at Dharmahorse Sanctuary. That amount will last one month for the 2 elders! That is 12 bales at 100lbs each, $20 each - it works out to about 20 lbs. per day per horse pre-soaked. This costs less than soaking pellets & we control the quality!
