Friends, group discussion (GD) is a very important skill for any student. For anything to master we need to prepare in advance. As is rightly said, “When you sweat more during practice, you bleed less during the war”.

You need to prepare in two ways for any type of GD,
1. Knowledge and information.
2. Psychologically - the right mindset.

Let us talk about the first one: Knowledge and information.
For topics like factual GD, you need to prepare thoroughly and broadly. You must keep learning and accumulating knowledge daily. National daily/ magazine help a lot. However, be selective about the news you read. Do not select ‘any’ news and read deeply. You will waste your time. Be selective. Remember-Garbage in Garbage out. Read-only that which will be helpful in GD. Read from many facets daily, like politics, sports, education, international events, and finance. Accumulating knowledge is a slow and continuous process.

The observers mainly see your mindset-attitude. How you approach the given topic (problem). This is also called the Psychology. The question here is,
How to develop this rational/ matured Psychology?

In short, we have to develop the right ‘thinking’. This is a very time-consuming process. Your thinking is mostly influenced by, your surrounding (people, media, movies etc) and books you read.

To have the achievers ‘thought process’ you have to create awareness in you.
