CHLORINE DEMAND: Community Medicine/PSM/fmge /m i

In this video I will be talking about chlorine demand. Chlorine demand is the amount of chlorine required to disinfect a certain amount of water. It is estimated using an apparatus known as Horockks apparatus. Horockks apparatus consists of 6white cups and 1 black cup. Starch iodide is used as an indicator. Property of the cups is that if one cup changes colour automatically the rest of the cups will change colour. The formula to calculate the amount of chlorine required to disinfect water is( nX2) gms chlorine is required to disinfect 455 litres of water.
