What they don't tell you on "A Place in the Sun" Buying a House on The Costa Blanca Torrevieja Spain

In this video we talk about, what we think are important ommissions by property buying programs when you are buying a property in Spain, or anywhere else.
In the first couple of series, I think they did mention communal charges but then stopped. Maybe the producers thought it was "not good telly".
We love A Place in the Sun and watch all the episodes and repeats and I'm sure they don't mean to "pull the wool over anyone's eyes" but we think it is important to know about the 10% property tax on top of the wiggle room price and the communal charges which can be quite substantial.
Ours, fortunately, are only 87.30 euros every 6 months, so about 15.00 per month.
We think everyone will appreciate a solicitor would be involved in a house purchase so that would be a cost everyone would expect.
Another surprise for us was the non-resident tax which we didn't budget for. It's not too bad, in our case it's about 280.00 euros per year.
We may do an episode on that at a later date.
