भारत दुनिया की सबसे तेजी से बढ़ती अर्थव्यवस्थाओं में से एक है। फिर भी यह एक ऐसा देश है जो 'भूख' के मामले में 125 देशों में से 111 वें स्थान पर है। हाल ही में जारी ग्लोबल हंगर इंडेक्स रिपोर्ट 2023, के अनुसार भारत का प्रदर्शन अपने पड़ोसियों से भी खराब रहा। वह अफ़्रीका के कुछ बहुत छोटे देशों को ही पीछे छोड़ सका। लेकिन भारत सरकार ने रिपोर्ट को यह कहते हुए स्वीकार करने से इनकार कर दिया कि इसकी मेथोडोलॉजी ग़लत है। जब हमने उन आपत्तियों को रिपोर्ट बनाने वाली एजेंसियों के सामने रखा, तो उन्होंने बताया कि कैसे आपत्तियों में ज्यादा दम नहीं है और कैसे अध्ययन किए गए सभी देशों में से केवल भारत ने आपत्तियां उठाई। बहरहाल, इससे पहले कई अन्य रिपोर्टों ने भी पोषण के विभिन्न संकेतकों पर भारत के खराब प्रदर्शन की तस्वीर पेश की थी। अधिक जानने के लिए पूरा वीडियो देखें।

India is one of the fastest growing economies of the world. Yet it is a country that ranks 111 out of 125 countries in terms of 'hunger'. According to the recently released Global Hunger Index Report 2023, India performed worse than its neighbours. It could leave behind only some of the very small nations of Africa. But the Indian government refused to accept the report saying its methodology was faulty. When we put those objections to the agencies which made the reports, they explained how the objections didn't hold much water, and how out of all countries studied, only India had raised objections. Nonetheless, many other reports before this one had also painted a picture of India's poor performance on various indicators of nutrition. Watch the full video to know more.
