Moses Cooper rides through the night to alert the colonists that British forces are approaching Concord. He tells them to summon the militia, and they do so after contemplating their situation.

This clip can be used to teach about the American Revolution. It illustrates the nature of Paul Revere's midnight ride and gives insight into the "alarm and muster" system used by the colonists to alert others of a British threat. This system relied partially on express messengers such as Paul. The midnight ride was significant in that it prepared the colonists for the first battles of the American Revolution, the Battles of Lexington and Concord, as they were able to hide the military supplies that the British were looking for and assemble a militia.
