One of the closest 4wd trails to the town of Moab, Moab Rim is a difficult and dangerous trail that requires your undivided attention, but rewards you with awe-inspiring views of the Colorado River and the town of Moab. Climbing 950 vertical feet from the base of the canyon next to the river, you will encounter many rock ledges and tight turns, all of which you must traverse while leaning off-camber towards the cliff edge. Two named obstacles along the edge include the Devil's Crack and Z-Turn. The higher you climb, the better the views. Once the trail has reached the plateau, the scenery changes to a more desert scene closely resembling that of Hells Revenge. With several more optional obstacles such as the sand hill and the extremely steep "Slickrock Dome" with an 85% grade, this trail is sure to entertain even the most hardcore wheeler. This off-road trail is also a great trail if you are short on time or just want to hit one quick trail while passing through town.
