Interview with mothers of a-ha: Henny Harket, Gerd Waaktaar Gamst, Annelise Furuholmen Nøkleby

"They say that it is good to see that they are doing so well in the things they REALLY wanted to do. Because they made this a priority before education it is great to see the success. (Waaktaar) says it was scary when they wanted to seek fame but are happy now.

Interviewer says that Morten's mother maybe have pictures of Morten on a sheepskin rug that fans would want, but she denies that with a laugh. She however got several home movies of him from his youth that they will not get more into...

Furholmen says she got four children, Waaktaar says she got two, Harket says she got five. Furuholmen says (in a question if there was something special about them) that they have been different, creative and exciting, challenging and funny. She says "yes and no" at the question if they made their own bed. She admits that maybe some other interests was more important. But he had to carry out the garbage sometimes like any other children.

Harket tells that Morten was home (for a short time) between the America tour and the European tour. Waktaar says that all three of them had bought apartments in London that will be sort of a "base" for them. They look forward to seeing them
home for christmas.

Waaktaar says she like to go to concerts (classical music) and thinks maybe that have been an influence. Furuholmen sings in a choir and enjoys that very much. Harket doesn't play anything but her husband plays and they have had a "house orchestra" since the children was small, Morten played the trombone.

For christmas, the Harket family eats pork ribs. Waaktaar says that they eat turkey and that is a tradition that can't be changed. Paul has been promised that he will have this to eat also this year. Furuholmen says Magne is a vegetarian so he will have his salad while the others will eat traditional christmas food (pork ribs).

The female interviewer ask them what christmas gifts you give to boys who got almost everything and more money than all of the people in the studio combined. Furuholmen will maybe buy a coocbook for vegetarians and Waaktaar haven't decided what she will buy...maybe something Norwegian for his apartment....

When asked if they have changed, maybe becomed "cocky" or a bit distant,
Waaktaar denies that but she says they had to adapt and become more used to media. She says that they still have their feet on the ground. They don't see them different at all, personally.

The female interviewer asks that if one of their other children says that they will be just as successfull, and wants to follow in their footsteps.... how do they react?
Furuholmen says that she got two of them playing, one on the drums and the other on the trombone. She will try to help them develop their talents as much as she can.

Interviewer says that they got two performers (siblings) in the studio at age 11 and 13 that have won some competitions. He asks them if they got any advices for them... Harket says that they maybe don't try to be like other performers but
just themselves. Then he introduces the two siblings who plays violin and piano"
