A truly magnificent battle here, as legendary featherweight champ' Ernesto Marcel retires on a win over future P4P ATG Alexis Arguello, in a fast paced two-way technical battle.

Arguello, known for his timing, patience and relaxed way of dishing out devastation, was not yet the honed Matador he would become and is forced to take the fight to the more diversely skilled Panamanian who uses his superior feet, upper body movement to land the superior blows although Arguello really lays it on thick. Marcel then gets a second wind late on and ups the ante yet again, displaying his all-round level of finesse.
