Bio of Sean Juhl:
Chinese-American violist Sean Juhl first began studying the violin with his mother at age four. Sean made the switch to the viola in 2014, and has since performed as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral player in venues around the world, including the Royal Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Carnegie Hall in New York, Royal Albert Hall in London, and Smetana Hall in Prague.

An avid chamber and orchestral musician, Sean recently participated in the New York String Orchestra Seminar, and is also an alumnus of the Perlman Music Program. He has served as a principal violist with the Juilliard Orchestra and National Youth Orchestra-USA, and enjoys reading and playing video games asides from his studies. His past teachers include Victor Basis, Joey Corpus, Bela Horvath and Toby Appel.

Sean is currently a sophomore at the Juilliard School studying with Carol Rodland. Most recently, Sean won first prize in the 2019 Juilliard Viola Concerto Competition, and performed the John Harbison Viola Concerto with the Juilliard Orchestra at Alice Tully Hall.
