LeetCode is the most popular platform to prepare for technical interviews. Many tech companies like Google, Amazon, Facebook, and Microsoft as coding problems found on the site. For many people preparing for FAANG interviews, it can become a grind to solve hundreds of algorithm and data structure problems that could potentially be asked at these companies. That is why in this video I go over 5 tips to beat the LeetCode grind.

My first tip is to stick to learning a single topic each week. For example, study dynamic programming for one week, tree problems another, and graph problems another week. Doing random problems each day will lead to you forgetting how you solved a category of problems and you want to make sure all the tips and tricks stick in your brain for as long as possible.

The second tip is to stick to schedule and be consistent. In my opinion, doing algorithm problems for an hour to two hours a day is more beneficial than doing it 8 hours in a day.

The third tip is to stick to only your weakest topics when studying. It doesn't make much sense to go over topics you are already very comfortable in. Try to be at least a 4 out of 5 in all the important topics such as dynamic programming, binary trees, graphs, breadth first search, depth first search, etc where this means you can solve most mediums and some hards.

The fourth tip is to set a time limit for all problems you solve. In a real interview, you will always be under a time constraint and it is best to prepare for that type of setting. If you solving easy problems, give yourself 20 minutes, medium problems 45 minutes, and hard problems a max of one hour.

The last and final tip for interview preparation is to find a buddy. Solving algorithm and data structure problems is very hard and having a second personal do them with you will always make it easier. You can each give one another mock interviews or you can use a platform such as Pramp to do mock interviews with strangers. Doing this will allow you to get over the nerves of doing a technical interview.
