Percussion Performance: Osmantan Erkir & Misirli Ahmet at TEDxSilkRoad

Osmantan Erkir is a well known TV show host and format producer, in Turkey. He discussed the importance of television programmes that cross borders from East to West and west to east on the New Silk Road. He introduced and chatted with Misirli Ahmet before and after the performance.

Misirli Ahmet is percussion artist, trained in Egypt who now has a drumming school that trains people from all over the world.

Misirli Ahmet did an amazing drum performance and an interactive session with the audience, and he talked about the fact that, if you go beyond your own borders internally and in your mind, then you can solve a lot of problems in the world. And that music helps you communicate with one another at another level... The unspoken level, like the unplayed rhythm, the S note in drumming...
