10 tips on how to hold your breath longer underwater like a real mermaid!
Always do it with a body. The main goal is to minimize energy use and maximize relaxation!
#1 do not eat before use energy to digest, 2 or 3 hours before
#2 do it in the morning, just after waking up
#3 stretch before (thoracic cage, torso)
#4 wear diving mask (not only Google) - prevent water in your nose, allow to equalize with the air when diving deeper than 1 or 2 meters- google will squeeze on your face not comfortable,)
#5 Wear a wetsuit. If you are cold you will be using more energy
#6 If you want to hold your breath for a long time, you need to warm-up your lungs (breathing tables), hold your breath until it is slightly uncomfortable. take a 2 minutes break, hold your breath 15 seconds more. Get your body used to hold his breath, do it 3 times. You can do it on land or in the water
#7 After taking 3 big breaths and hold your breath for as long as you can *Do not hyperventilate (it stop your body to tell you when you need to bread and it is dangerous because you can pass out underwater and drown).
#8 Stay static, don’t swim,
#9 Use a weight belt you need to find the proper weight to make yourself neutrally buoyant you won't fight to float of sinking,
#10 Do not blow bubbles out.

#11 stay at the surface instead of being deep, the deeper you go the more oxygen you use
#12 Put water on your face before doing a breath-hold. Mammalian diving reflex, being in the water lower your heart rate 10-20% when you get water in your face. Resulting in using less oxygen. The more you practice the stronger it will become.
#13 Doing cardio training will help you to get a lower resting pulse (hard beat rate). Playing a wind instrument or singing Loose weight: No overweight. Being in the water makes you more comfortable, floating, being part of the water
