BMW E46 M3 - RACP Reinforcement - Powerflex - Powdercoat - POR15
This striking and individual Dakar Yellow E46 M3 Coupe came to us at Redish Motorsport for the Rear Axle Carrier Panel repair & reinforcement process.
After carrying out an extensive inspection, we found crack and spot weld damages to the Underside of the RACP, and also additional crack and spot weld damages to the Internal RACP sections.
This video documents the our method of repair & reinforcement of the RACP and how we went about tackling the additional Internal damages found which required the Rear Boot Floor Panel front section to be removed/installed, as well as access panels in the Rear Seat Panel, and other area's needing repair relating to the Rear Seat Panel to Mid Chassis Legs, Isofix mount crack, and early separation of the RACP from the NSR Chassis Leg.
The customer also requested that any surface corrosion was attended to underneath the vehicle in the RACP localised area, as well as the not so common surface corrosion we found inside the boot in the 'spare wheel well' area and module tray & battery tray areas.
We treated these corroded area's with POR-15 chemical and then carried out our professional anti corrosion protections including body coloured finish underneath to finish off, as well as additional Rear Inner Arch extended paint.
Extensive cavity waxing was also carried out to ensure proper coverage of cavity protection in the area's where welding had been carried out.
Whilst with us, this M3 also had many new additions to the Rear Axle.
The customer specified some of the axle hardware was powdercoated in Ruby Red with a Metallic Clear Coat:
Rear Subframe
Rear Upper Arms
Rear Anti Roll Bar
Rear Diff Cover
V-Brace
The customer also supplied some CAtuned Rear Camber Arms finished in a similar red which we fitted before carrying out a Wheel Alignment.
Several consumable (wear & tear) items were also specified during this process:
We supplied & installed

Powerflex Diff Bushes
