3 sizes Basic Wire Loops for jewelry | How to, tips, problems, and fixes.

In this video, I will show you how to make wire loops in 3mm, 4mm, 5mm. These sizes are the most common sizes that have been used, and loop making is an important technique in jewelry making.

Tools I used in this video:

1. Round nose pliers (to form the loop)
2. Flat nose pliers (to flatten the loop)
3. Rhine nose pliers (to open and close smaller loops)
4. Flush cutter
5. Ruler.
6. Sharpie Marker

Material:

20g copper wires (you may use any other material as long as it is in 20G)

It's quite easy to make a wire loop, but it can be tricky to keep the sizes' consistency.

The measurement is the key.

To get an accurate measurement, it depends on:

1. tools

Every brand's pliers come in slightly different sizes, so you need to work out where exactly those measurements are on your own tools. Once you got it, put a mark on it, so you don't have to guess again for the next time.

2.wire gauge

I'll recommend using 20g wire as in this video if you are new in jewelry making. So you could start to create some wire loops with the same consistency.

Once you mastered this technique, you could try using a different wire gauge.
