@Trishla Foundation: Cerebral Palsy Crouch gait in cerebral palsy occurs because of many reasons, thus detailed analysis is required. Crouching means bending of the knee during walking. It can occur because of problems not only in the knee also can occur because of the problem in feet, leg knee, and hip.

Most important cause what we were believing that knee flex or hamstring muscle will be the culprit but most of the time it is normal. planovalgus feet deformity, weak or over lengthens gastrocnemius, weak quadriceps, torsional deformity of the tibia & femur can be the causes of crouch gait.

So planning is based on the problem in the child that can be determined on the basis of detailed gait analysis, physical examination before and during surgery. she has undergone surgery to lower down patella by distal transfer of tibial tuberosity followed by physical therapy to improve muscle power of quadriceps & balance.
