Christine est une jeune chimiste sur le point de découvrir un nouveau traitement contre la toxicomanie. Sam est écrivain. Ami d'université de son mari Chuck, il fait croire à Christine que ce dernier la trompe. Christine se console dans les bras de Sam, mais finit par développer des doutes quant à sa personnalité et en vient à les soupçonner, lui et son mari, d'être en train de fomenter un plan pour la tuer…

Christine, a chemist on the verge of a major breakthrough in finding a cure for drug addiction, is duped into believing that her husband Chuck is having an affair by her husband’s college friend, Sam, a crime novelist. But as Christine finds comfort in Sam’s arms, she becomes suspicious that he is not who he claims to be and that he might even be scheming with her husband to have her murdered...
