Episode 15: Update Salesforce Records From Data Cloud | Agentforce Data Library (PDF Files)

In this episode, I walk you through building a smart and automated Loan Application process using Agentforce and Data Cloud – where PDF files are read and parsed automatically to update Salesforce records.

We start by preparing a PDF file and uploading it to the Agentforce Data Library (ADL). Then, I create a custom Loan Application object with relevant fields to capture loan data.

After that, we configure a powerful Agentforce Service Agent that uses the AnswerQuestionWithKnowledge action to read the PDF stored in ADL and extract structured information from it.

Next, we write a clean Apex class to take this extracted data and update the corresponding Loan Application record. This logic is then exposed via a reusable Agent Action.

We also validate key Data Cloud components – including Data Model Objects (DMOs), Data Lake Objects (DLOs), Einstein Studio, Search Index, and Data Explorer – to ensure everything is connected end to end.

A Record-Triggered Flow on the Loan Application object kicks off the Service Agent automatically.

Finally, we run a live demo to watch this intelligent automation in action.
