In this Trade Management Mini Session we looked at a long call trade example where a 1ATR (Average True Range) target and exit had been included when the position was opened. The stock hit the exit price. We walked through how to calculate the net loss and also how to calculate the loss as a percentage of return on risk. We also reviewed the trade and it was managed from the time it was placed to determine if the daily trade management rules had been followed. We then used the thinkback feature on the thinkorswim paperMoney platform to determine how much less the loss might have been had the example rules been followed diligently.
