HRC Finished Hunt Test - Water setup (Buck @ 14 months old)

Lone Star Hunting Retriever Club finished test on 3/24/19. This is Buck’s first finished test and also his first pass. He was 14 months old. He barely passed as the judges talked to me about it after this run and said they were on the fence, but he ended up passing. He was one of 9 dogs out of 26 that passed. The test was at Mark Edwards place in Bonham, TX.

This was a bit emotional for me as it is the first time back to that property since I was there with my dog Chief. Chief died at only 20 months old from cancer. Buck is also the first dog I have ever 100% trained myself. And this was the first time I had ever run in a finished test before. I don’t think I’ll ever top the emotion I felt after this test.
