First Time Watching One Piece Season 2 Episode 2 as the Straw Hat Pirates officially cross into the Grand Line and the adventure expands in a huge way. This episode adapts the beloved storyline at the lighthouse where the crew meets the mysterious old caretaker Crocus, the man watching over the massive whale Laboon. As the Straw Hats learn about Laboon’s emotional backstory and why the whale keeps crashing into the Red Line, the series delivers one of the more heartfelt moments in the early Grand Line saga.
The episode also introduces Princess Nefertari Vivi, who becomes an important ally to the Straw Hats, along with her partner Mr. 9. Together they begin pulling the Straw Hats into the larger conspiracy involving the secret criminal organization Baroque Works, hinting at the massive conflict brewing ahead. With emotional storytelling, world-building, and new characters entering the journey, Episode 2 continues expanding the world of One Piece while deepening the stakes for Luffy and his crew.
The series stars Iñaki Godoy as Monkey D. Luffy, Emily Rudd as Nami, Mackenyu as Roronoa Zoro, Jacob Romero Gibson as Usopp, and Taz Skylar as Sanji, with returning characters including Jeff Ward as Buggy the Clown and Ilia Isorelýs Paulino as Alvida.
