North Korea: Kim Jong-un welcomes Lavrov for Pyongyang talks

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov arrived in Pyongyang on Thursday to hold a historic meeting with the North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, becoming the first Russian official to meet him in person.

Prior to the meeting, Lavrov met with his North Korean counterpart Ri Yong-ho, where they discussed relations between the two nations, the situation on the Korean Peninsula and the scheduled meeting between Kim Jong-un and US President Donald Trump in Singapore.

The Russian delegation arrived in Pyongyang for an official visit on Thursday.
