Patient Story: Mobi-C and Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery (Betty)

Betty Fernandes suffered with back pain, fatigue and numbness in her hands and arms for six and half years after a car accident left her with three herniated discs in her neck. Dr. Sandhu, a neurosurgeon at MedStar Georgetown, recommended a minimally invasive spine surgery using the Mobi-C device, a prosthetic that would preserve the movement in her neck and finally give her some relief from her the pain.

Betty was the first patient in the DC area to get the Mobi-C device and afterwards, her back pain was gone, her headaches went away and she could sleep through the night.

"It's a chance to have my life back," says Betty.
