What is a DDoS Attack?

A distributed-denial-of-service, or DDoS, attack is when a bad-actor floods a network, application or service with tons of illegitimate traffic. This overwhelming influx of traffic then crowds out legitimate traffic, sometimes pushing the target offline. There are several types of DDoS attacks:
-Volumetric Attacks
-TCP State-Exhaustion attacks
-Application-layer attacks

Watch this clip to learn more about these attack types and how to stop them.
