Tesla's Upcoming Secret Product. HVAC Systems.

Tesla has developed a lot of experience with HVAC systems and HEPA filters with their work on the ‘Bioweapon Defense Mode‘ in Model S and Model X, which use HEPA filters, and with the Model 3 HVAC systems for which Tesla developed a new patented technology.

When pointed out that such a system for a house would be a “life changer” for people with allergies, Musk said that it is “a way bigger deal than most people realize:”

Musk also added that Tesla’s HVAC system could “maybe tap the condensation for water too.”
MUSK said
“Seems odd that HVAC systems make pure, fresh water and just dump it on the ground.”
Elon Musk said Tesla could make a "kickass" heating, ventilation, and air conditioning system.
During the company's first-quarter 2020 earnings call, Musk responded to a question about his suggestion last month that Tesla could build an HVAC system. Claiming that it "could be a hell of a product," Musk outlined a system that could filter out pollen and bacteria, neutralize select gases, collect water, and even offer a water heating solution.
When discussing about this idea in March 2020, Musk wrote that the "house could talk to car & know when you’re expected home, so temp & humidity would be perfect just as you arrive. No wasted energy.
Let’s talk about this. This hvac will be integrated to your car. From your Tesla GPS when you are navigating to your home. This Hvac which is integrated to your car knows will know when are you arriving to your home. For example, if you are like 1 hour away and if it takes 20 minutes to cool the house then the Hvac will start cooling your house when you are 20 minutes away. So, when you enter your home you don’t have to wait and it will be in perfect temperature. It will all be done automatically you don’t do anything tell anything it will be seamlessly done.

Another cool thing is room by room control. Currently HVAC systems power the entire house the same way. Either its heating or cooling and whether if you are in the home or not. There are some external systems which can address this problem but they are very expensive as they need to have motion detectors and circuits and other things which makes these things very expensive. But when Tesla makes these HVAC systems, they won’t have a battery powered and it will be wired along with all the vents to every room where you will motor to open and close the vent. So, the motion detector when someone is walking into the room it will open the vents.

One more beautiful thing with Tesla is they make very good products like their home energy products, which include solar panels, solar roof, Powerwall, and accompanying accessories.
Tesla also has experience in home energy. The company produces both solar panels for existing roofs, as well as the Tesla Solar Roof. These products, designed to collect solar energy for renewable home electricity, pair with a Powerwall battery that stores energy for 24-hour use. Musk demonstrated a house of the future back in October 2016 using a Solar Roof, a Powerwall and a Model 3 offering a complete home solution. An HVAC system can take this a step further.

They already have hvac systems in their cars and the way they built the ventilators are they already have some parts from the past and the engineering team was able to come up with a design pretty quickly and was able to make ventilators. Similarly, Tesla can make their team to work on a home HVAC system from what they already have. They have the expertise; they have their parts.

But Tesla has lot of goals in mind which could push this on the back burner.
