Iranian singer Arash: I understand Russians

Iranian music has thousands of years of history, but the beginnings of its pop music are dated only in the 1900s. After Iran's Islamic Revolution in 1979, pop music's future seemed dark because of new Islamic laws and restrictions. Many Iranian talents migrated to foreign countries and became Iranian-in-exile pop stars. Arash Labaf, an Iranian-Swedish singer, is a striking example of these stars. He has managed to gain popularity both in Europe, Russia, and in his homeland Iran. In an interview with RIA Novosti's Mikhail Yousef, the ex-participant of the Eurovision Song contest and special guest of the Annual Russian MUZ-TV Awards in Moscow, talks about Iranian culture and music, the Eurovision song contest, Russian world outlook, and his future career plans.
