Thief Ring adds a significant buff to the distance you can be from enemies before they Aggro onto you.

Once you finish defeating the Hollow Dreggs, Ostrava will jump down. Talk to him to receive the Brass Telescope, which you can later trade with the Crow in World 4-1. Make sure not to Attack him as you need the Mausoleum Key from him as part of two Trophy/Achievement Lines.
