From farms to fairways Toro has a long and storied history dating back 100 years. And all the those years have been centered in Minnesota. The Toro Motor Company started in 1914 making motors for the Bull Tractor Company of Minneapolis (and 'yes' Toro is named Toro because its Spanish for bull).

When the tractor firm went belly up, Toro turned to golf - and the rest is history. By the 1920's Toro was shipping turf and lawn maintenance equipment all over the world. It wasn't all straight down the fairway though - economic challenges (depression, recession, global competition) were met with continued success, and changing technology meant adapting to new and modern gardening innovations. Today, Toro continues to be a world leader, in not only golf maintenance, but for home/residential lawn and gardens.
