Late Sir Michael Gambon ‘one of the true greats’: Piers Morgan

Sky News Australia host Piers Morgan has made a touching tribute to the late Sir Michael Gambon who passed away at the age of 82.

Mr Morgan said he was one of Britain’s “greatest ever” actors.

“He was one of the true greats that our theatres ever produced,” the Sky News Australia host said.

Mr Morgan reminisced on an interview where the film star reflected on how modern celebrities “just want a quick buck” with no talent required.

“So, I said to him, what would you call this type of person?” Mr Morgan said.

“Sir Michael looked at me and smirked and said, ‘I would call them a cretin’.

“R.I.P Sir Michael, you were brilliant onstage, and you were brilliant off it to interview.”
