The "Perks" of Church Membership vs. Church Membership As A Privilege

Hey Friends!!

Our church is going through this series called "This Is Us: A Church On Mission" where we are focused on getting back to being like the early church in Acts 2. My pastor is preaching through a journey focused on us being Biblically grounded, meaningfully related, prayerfully focused, and gospel centered. We started the meaningfully related section this month and he recommended that we read this book "I Am a Church Member" by Thom S. Rainer and the church bought copies for the entire congregation.

I wanted to have a discussion about how we sometimes look at church like a country club where we have "perks" of being a member instead of the Biblical definition of church membership where membership is a privilege in and of itself and we should be focused on serving and connecting.
