1950s DIY RACE BOAT Project!!! Introducing Mini Max 3-point Hydroplane!

I just picked up ANOTHER boat project and OF COURSE it's a fast race boat because why would I ever own anything practical, useful, or safe. This video will introduce you to my newest project boat, a homemade 3 point Racing Hydroplane, called a Mini Max or Sea Flea! These boats were made popular in the 1950s and 1960s when their plans were published in DIY Magazines, and allowed almost anybody to build a fun, fast boat with just a few sheets of plywood and a couple weekends!

It's only 8 feet long and about 4 feet wide, but this little thing should hit 40-50mph when properly set up, and the sensation of speed being only inches from the water should make it seem like 100mph. Although it's in pretty great conditions, there are a couple things I want to do to it before I get her wet; watch the video for my plans on refinishing the hull with a trick graphite and epoxy coating to reduce drag, and rebuild the steering area to improve the aesthetics.
